Philippa Davidson Leather offers a range of informative and insightful courses, where you can learn how to dye and paint leather, and how to pattern and tool it successfully. There are many aspects to leather crafting, and it may take many sessions to learn to make leather armour effectively. With my guidance though, you will gain practical and real-world knowledge of leatherworking, enabling you to progress in your ability.

My leather workshops are welcoming to all levels of aptitude. Whether you are a proficient leather crafter or a complete beginner, you can gain something from my courses, and learn to make leather armour to a high standard.

My courses are available online and in-person, depending on your travel considerations and preference.

My courses either take place online or at 32 Adisham Green, Kemsley, Sittingbourne, Sittingbourne, ME10 2SR.

Leather crafting tools

Leather tooling course

This is an in person or online course, with the option of half-day or full-day tuition for online helping you to create your custom leather armour. The in person is a 2 day course will cover tooling, dyeing and painting your leather piece. All of the materials will be supplied by me. The cost of this course £280

The online course for half a day is to show you the basics of tooling. The  online course for a full day, will go more in depth about tooling. You will need to supply your own materials for these courses.

Half day online is £50, full day online is £100.

Leather dyes

 How to dye your leather

This can be online or in person, and will introduce you to the techniques of dying leather. An online course for half a day will include showing  you how to dye and resist your leather piece. If you have a tooled leather piece, I will show you how to apply the resist then antique it. You will need to supply your own materials. The cost of an online course for half day is £50.

The in person course will cover different methods of dyeing. All materials will be supplied by myself. This will cover how to dye, resist then antique your tooled piece of leather. The cost of this course is £100 for 1 day.

How to paint leather with acrylics

This can also be online or in person, and will introduce you to the techniques of painting leather. 

The half day online course will cover how to start with the basics of painting. This course is £50 and you will need to supply your own materials.

The in person course for 1 day will include all materials. I will show you the basics of painting on leather. This course for a full day is £100.

Quiver
This style of quiver is a one off made for customer. This style can be worn from the waist, left or right. Also over the shoulder for comfort when moving around. There is a pocket at the front for any items you need to carry with you. Price £180

Fenrir bag
This bag is a slightly larger bag that has been laced with braiding around the top. The design has been hand tooled with another design on the back. It can be worn with either design showing. Price £180.

Hand made shield. The edge is covered with raw hide. The boss is metal. This shield has my logo on as a demonstration piece. The wooden handle is shaped and made of wood. Circumference is 27"
